Sadie Soverall & Matt Cornett To Star As Percy & Sam In ‘Every Summer After’ Amazon Series Adaptation; Full Cast

Sadie Soverall (Saltburn) and Matt Cornett (High School Musical: The Musical: The Series) are set as the leads in Every Year After, Prime Video‘s upcoming series based on Carley Fortune‘s bestselling romantic novel Every Summer After. Rounding out the main cast are Aurora Perrineau (Kaos), Abigail Cowen (Fate: The Winx Saga), Michael Bradway (Chicago Fire) and Joseph Chiu (Fear Street: Prom Queen).

Told over the course of six years and one week in Barry’s Bay – the quintessential lake town –Every Year After is described as a romantic, nostalgic story of first loves and the people and choices that mark us forever.

Soverall will play Percy, Cornett portrays Sam, Perrineau is Chantal, Cowen plays Delilah, Bradway portrays Charlie and Chiu is Jordie.

Every Year After will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide. A date is TBA.

Every Summer After, which spent 14 weeks on the New York Times Bestseller list, has sold 1M+ copies to date. The book gained popularity through BookTok, with Every Summer After hashtag getting over 81.4M views on TikTok.

“I couldn’t be more excited about this fabulous cast!,” said Fortune. “This is an enormously talented group of actors, whose auditions made me laugh, swoon, and cry. I know they’ll have fans of Every Summer After falling in love with their favorite characters all over again.”

Amy B. Harris will serve as showrunner and executive producer alongside Fortune, Lindsey Liberatore, Amy Rardin, John Stephens and Grace Gilroy as executive producers. Julie Rottenberg and Elisa Zuritsky (Sex and the City, And Just Like That) serve as writers and consulting producers.

Soverall will next lead the fantasy thriller I Am A Monster for Iconoclast, starring alongside Havana Rose Liu. She also starred in Channel 4’s The Gathering.

Cowen can currently be seen in The Ritual, opposite Al Pacino and Dan Stevens, and in director Hala Matar’s feature debut, Electra. She’ll next appear in upcoming indie features, including Heavenly Wickedness,, Summerhouse, opposite Malcom McDowell and Jacob Ward and Daisy for director Nikhil Melnechuk.

Melissa Jackson, Abigail Cowen, Dana Wheeler-Nicholson & Adam Huber To Topline Bull Riding Drama ‘Daisy’

EXCLUSIVE: Director Nikhil Melnechuk has wrapped production in Texas on his debut feature, the bull riding drama Daisy. Cast set in the pic, described as an underdog sports story, includes Melissa Jackson (The Easy Kind), Abigail Cowen (Fate: The Winx Saga), Dana Wheeler-Nicholson (Nashville) and Adam Huber (Dynasty).

Written by Melnechuk and Jackson, the film tells the story of Daisy (Jackson), a Latina orphan living and working as a cowgirl on a bucking bull ranch in Texas. Daisy’s always been treated as less-than by her domineering boss Mrs. Koehl (Wheeler-Nicholson). When her rodeo star twin brother gets paralyzed, his spitfire bull rider girlfriend Tam (Cowen) convinces Daisy to train and take her brother’s place in a high-stakes championship. Determined to get her shot, Daisy catches the attention of washed-up pro rider Guy (Huber), who becomes her coach. Sparks fly, but there are snakes everywhere. Betrayed by those closest to her and a newcomer to the sport, Daisy must find the strength to ride.
Developed with Duke Largo (Cowgirls), a pioneer in women’s bull and bronc riding, Daisy features appearances by bull riders Billi Halverson, Jordan Halvorsen, Adam Lucero, and Chase Outlaw. Others in the cast include Brad Leland (Deepwater Horizon), Tanner Beard (We Summon the Darkness), Barron Boedecker (Queen of the Ring), Bonner Bolton (The Longest Ride), Lisa Fairchild (W.), Harper Heath (Love & Death), Todd Jenkins (The Channel), Kamen Kasey (Black Adam), Billie D. Merritt (Tazmanian Devil), Crawford Wilson (Sugar Mountain), Danny Williams-Lopez (Breakwater), country artist Tyler Rich, and singer-songwriter Morgan Wade.

The production is led by Mystic Entertainment’s Melnechuk and Jackson, along with Tomik Mansoori and Lane Cheek of Silver Sail Entertainment. Exec producers include George B. Boedecker, Jr., Matt Cheney, Gerald & Theresa Thompson, Beard of Silver Sail Entertainment, Peter Gilbert, and Anita La Cava Swift — John Wayne’s granddaughter, who makes a rare cameo appearance. Matthew Glasner and Beth Sepko handled casting, with Movie Animals Protected overseeing animals.

Said Melnechuk in a statement to Deadline, “From the 1800s to today, women have been central to rodeo history. Films just haven’t told enough cowgirl stories. We’re honored to have the support of cowgirls and cowboys alike to make “Daisy” authentic to the rodeo world they know, and to have the chance to bring our out-of-towner perspective so that the film is for everyone who likes to root for the underdog.”

Abigail Cowen in Exorcism Horror ‘The Ritual’

XYZ Films has acquired rights to David Midell’s feature and will introduce it to buyers in Cannes

Al Pacino and Dan Stevens have teamed up for exorcism horror film “The Ritual” from director David Midell.

XYZ Films has acquired worldwide rights to the feature, with plans to release it theatrically in 2025 and arrange international distribution at the upcoming Cannes market.

“The Ritual” was written by Midell and Enrico Natale and produced by Andrew Stevens, Mitchell Welch and Natale. Ashley Greene and Abigail Cowen round out the cast.

Based on a true story, “The Ritual” follows two priests — one questioning his faith (Stevens) and one reckoning with a troubled past (Pacino) — who must put aside their differences to save a possessed young woman through a difficult and dangerous series of exorcisms. The film is an authentic portrayal of Emma Schmidt, an American woman whose demonic possession culminated in harrowing exorcisms. Her case remains the most thoroughly documented exorcism in American history.

BondIt Media Capital provided financing for the project, with Matthew Helderman, Luke Taylor, and Tyler Gould for BondIt serving as Executive Producers.
